Itinerary Experience Angkor Wat The temples of Angkor Wat – architecture for the ages! This temple complex is the world’s largest religious monument and was built during the Khmer Empire. The Empire’s monarchs had several capitals built between the 9th and 15th centuries, each of which had a large main temple at its centre, surrounded by countless smaller temples and sanctuaries. In total, the Khmer structures covered an area of about 200km2. The most famous of these temple complexes is Ankor Wat, a national symbol, and, as of 1992, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The temple is representative of the Khmer culture and today’s Cambodian people. Day 1 (Sun.) Flight Hồ Chí Minh City – Siem Reap & bike tour (35km) In the morning, your tour guide will meet you at the airport in Siem Reap and accompany you to the hotel in the centre of the city. Once you have settled in, the guides will help adjust your bikes before setting out on a tour to the floating village, Kompong Phluk, located in the floodplains of Tonle Sap Lake. Here you will have the opportunity to explore the area with its unique natural landscapes by canoe. Admire the beautiful plant life while listening out for the calls of the macaque monkeys. Back at the hotel you will have time to rest before the welcome dinner accompanied by a traditional Apsara dance. Day 2 (Mon.) Siem Reap – Angkor Wat Temple Tour (35km) Another eventful day lies ahead with a cycling tour to the temples in and around Siem Reap. The first stop is the Ta Prom Temple, better known as the Jungle Temple, whose ruins are slowly being reclaimed by nature, it is engulfed by the mighty roots of tall trees. The tour continues on to the Bayon Temple and the twin temples of Thommanom and Chau Say Thyoda followed by the Victory Gate, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Terrace of Elephants. After a picnic near the famous Angkor Wat Temple, we cycle on to Phnom Bakeng to enjoy an exceptional sunset. Day 3 (Tues.) Siem Reap – Phnomh Kulen (50km) After a plentiful breakfast, the day begins with a bicycle tour to Phnomh Kulen. We pass a number of temples and monasteries as we ride along the dirt road towards Rattanak Tey Pagoda. Once here, we explore Phnomh Kulen on foot. We continue along the path up the mountain. There are plenty of breath-taking views along the way. On arrival, there will be time to enjoy a picnic and a refreshing swim under the nearby waterfall. Afterwards, we return to the pagoda and take a transfer back to Siem Reap. Day 4 (Wed.) Travel home Breakfast followed by free time until transfer to the airport. Program Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4
