Islandhopping for families in South Dalmatia

This Multi-Adventure Cruise in South Dalmatia is particularly well-suited for families. It combines the popular bathing cruise concept with a variety of activities. Spend a week on a charming motor vessel that takes you from island to island, sparing you the hassle of packing suitcases and searching for accommodations. Along with nights spent in port, we also spend some nights in quiet bays. Decide each day anew whether you would like to go for a bike or a hike, go rafting or rather stroll leisurely through the unique small harbour towns of the Adriatic - or simply spend the day relaxing on board. This is indeed a pleasant way of exploring Southern Dalmatia, possibly Croatia’s most attractive coastal region. A well-informed tour guide who can always point out various possibilities of creating an active or a relaxed holiday accompanies you. Local stories and legends and the country’s cultural treasures - most of which are protected by UNESCO’s World Heritage program – bring Croatia’s eventful history to life. The highlight of our Multi-Adventure Cruises is the opportunity to jump directly off the ship into the sea for a swim. Depending on wind and weather we reserve the right to run this tour in reverse.

1st Day Trogir (Embarkation) – Island of Vis
Individual arrival by car to Trogir or by plane to Split airport, which is about 6 km/4 mi. away from the harbour of Trogir. After check in on the motor yacht (at around 2:30 pm) the first cruise starts around 3 pm from Trogir to the Island of Vis. On the way we have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim from the boat. The first night is spent on the Island of Vis.
2nd Day Islands of Vis
(aprx. 6 mi./10 km by bike)
In the morning we can take part on an adventurous bike tour which takes us past the old military tunnels that crisscross the island, on our way to the fortress of St. George which played a significant role in the seafaring history of the island. Once back at the boat we cruise towards the island of Hvar and find a beautiful bay to anchor in for a long swimming break and for a peaceful night under the stars.
3rd Day Island Hvar
We start with a morning cruise to the capital city of Hvar on Hvar Island. After arrival we take a city tour across the large Renaissance Square, surrounded by the cathedral and many late gothic palaces. We are able to hike to the Spanish Fortress that towers above the town. From here we have a fabulous view onto the city and the surrounding islands. With lunch on board, we cast off from Hvar and anchor in the Pakleni Islands for a lengthy swim stop. In the afternoon we lift the anchor and cruise to the city of Stari Grad also on the island of Hvar, where we will spend the night.
4th Day Island of Hvar and Brač
(apr. 8 mi./13 km or 15 mi./25 km by bike)
In the morning we cruise to the famous ‘Golden Horn’ Beach in Bol on the island of Brač where the ship lowers its anchor for the morning. Here we can choose between a variety of activities both in the water and on land (not included in the tour price) or just enjoy the summer morning swimming in the sea and chilling on deck. During lunch on board, we cruise to the town of Jelsa on the island of Hvar where we can enjoy a bike tour along the beautiful seafront promenade through Vrboska, past the UNESCO Stari Grad Plains. Decide for yourself if you wish to do a longer or shorter version of the cycle tour. Enjoy the evening on board with a captains dinner and celebrate a successful day!
5th Day Island of Brač (aprx. 1.5 h on foot)
The morning is spent on board enjoying a longer cruise to Lovrečina Bay on the island of Brač. Once we have arrived, big and small islandhoppers are invited to a game of Beach Olympics on the beach. In the afternoon a 1.5 hour hike along the coast brings us to Postira. Here the sunset can be enjoyed from one of the many cafes or bars.
6th Day Split - Cetina Canyon
During breakfast the boat brings us to the city of Split, where we have the choice to either to take a bus transfer to go rafting through the Cetina Canyon (not included in the tour price) or to explore the wonderful Marjan forrest Park in Split on foot along with an extended visit to the beach for a swim and games at the beach. In the afternoon we can explore the bustling city of Split. We enjoy an exciting tour through the UNESCO World Heritage old town, built adjoining the walls of the Diocletian Palace. The night is spent in Split.
7th Day Island of Šolta – Trogir
(aprx. 5 mi./8 km by bike)
In the first half of the day we can cycle on the island of Šolta to Goran, a local beekeeper to participate in an interactive workshop on bees, their purpose, products and the life of a beekeeper. Goran is an expert in capturing the fascination of young and old with the enthusiasm he has for the bees which he keeps. We return to Rogač where the boat awaits. Lunch will be enjoyed on board during the last crossing by boat for the week as the captain charters his course back to Trogir. Along the way the anchor is dropped for an enjoyable dip in the Adriatic directly from the boat. In the afternoon we enjoy Trogir by taking a walk through the UNESCO protected old town. Traditionally the last evening before disembarkation is spent cheerfully with guests, crew and guides.
8th Day Trogir (Disembarkation)
After breakfast disembarkation takes place until 9 am followed by an individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.

Important information

Spoken language

Due to our international audience all Islandhopping tours are conducted bilingually, in English and German.

Itinerary changes

We reserve the right to make changes to the planned route due to changing wind and weather conditions, and where required by organizational necessities. Our tours are dependent on weather conditions and the final decision is that of the captain.

Requirements

The cycle tours we offer here take place under the expert guidance of your tour guide, who is familiar with the terrain. The bicycle tours do not require particular physical fitness. The walks and short hikes follow good paths, which are in part even asphalted and are also not at all demanding. Should some activities require a greater level of fitness, your tour guide will point this out to you beforehand.

Guided group pace

On our regular cycling tours the riding pace is determined by the cyclists on regular bicycles. We ask guests who have reserved an e-bike to be mindful of this and to acknowledge that also the regular cyclists need time to rest and longer to climb the hills. Thank you for your understanding.

Requirement to wear a helmet

Helmets are mandatory on our bike tours. It is advised to bring your own, well fitted, helmet with you as our rental helmet numbers are limited (reservation required).

Bringing children

The cruise offered here is an unforgettable experience especially for children. If you book a three-bed cabin, the third person in the cabin receives a 50 % discount on the basic tour price. Please note that our children’s bikes are only suitable for body sizes above 1.20 m/4 ft. For smaller children we offer trailer bikes or children’s seats on request (relevant hire charge applies). Please note that children under the age of 16 are obliged to wear a bike helmet.

Bringing private bikes & exclusion of private e-bikes

The tour which you have booked requires a bike with a fully functional set of gears. Islandhopping can offer you high quality, fully serviced rental bikes perfect for the terrain of this tour.

Should you however wish to bring your own hybrid bicycle with you, please make sure to check the condition of your breaks, gears, and tires and don’t forget to bring along a puncture repair kit and the essential spare parts for your bike (e.g. brake pads and spare tubes). Your bike should be in prefect mechanical working order.

We do not allow private e-bikes on board of our boats. This decision has been made due to health and safety regulations. If you wish to ride an e-bike for the duration of your tour, please get in touch with us about the rental options.

We do not recommend bringing along private road bikes, as the thin tires are not suitable for some of the road surfaces encountered on the tours.

Liability disclaimer: Radurlaub Zeitreisen GmbH. Will not be held liable for any damages caused to private bikes during loading, unloading or other logistical handling thereof.

Noise on board

Please do not forget that the ship is your hotel as well as a machine, which has to be maintained and operated – day and night. A certain level of noise is therefore inevitable.
