Itinerary

1st Day (Sun) Omišalj (Embarkation) – Krk (Level A & B: ca. 25 km, 350 m elevation)

Individual arrival to Omišalj on the island of Krk. Embarkation takes place from 1 to 1:30 pm. At 2 pm we have our first tour from Omišalj to Malinska where you will get a feel for the wilderness which rules this island. The rest of the family continue by boat from Omisalj to Njivice from where are able to partake on a small cycle tour (5km) along the waterfront and through the forest to Malinska. Together on board the reunited families continue by boat to the capital city of the island, Krk, with its decidedly lovely old town where we have the possibility to participate in a guided city tour in the evening.

2nd Day (Mon) Krk - Baška – Rab (Level A: ca. 35 km, 700 m elevation; Level B: ca. 25 km, 550 m elevation)

In the morning the ship brings us to the southernmost part of the Island Krk, Baška. Today’s tour leads us off road along narros trails and natural paths to a rocky plateau resembling a moon landscape. An old roman trail back to Baska gies today’s kick: a flowy trail with exceptional views down onto the bay of Baska and the boat. Today’s alternative program is a 5km hike through the unique rocky landscapes surrounding Baska, rewarding all participants with an incredible view over the entire Kvarner Bay. After an adrenalin filled tour around Baška the boat takes us further on to the Island of Rab, city Rab which again has a lovely old town where we can unwind with a guided walk in the evening.

3rd Day (Tue) Rab - Illovik (Level A: aprx. 40 km/25 mi, 800 m/2,625 ft of elevation; Level B: aprx. 30 km/19 mi., 700 m/2,297 ft of elevation)

The island of Rab is a small but very bold island, with a large variety on offer, especially for mountain bikers. The tours run along narrow promenades and flowy Roman paths, meander through the Dundo forest and offer stunning views over the sea and the town of Rab. Technically experienced bikers can test their skills on stony trails. Optionally and in dry conditions, the highest point of the island, the so called Kamenjak with a height of 410 m, can be climbed. The descent however requires technical skill. The rest of the family can pay a visit to the traditional bakery ‘’Vilma’’ to see how the Island’s own cake ‘’Raber Cake’’ is made before taking part on a small bike tour (15km) through the Dundo forest. In the afternoon the ship takes us to the small island, Illovik. If the weather permits the ship anchors for a swim stop.

4th Day (Wed) Illovik - Mali Lošinj (Level A: aprx. 30 km/19 mi., 650 m/2,133 ft of elevation; Level B: aprx. 25 km/16 mi., 500 m/1,640 ft of elevation)

During breakfast the ship takes us to the picturesque harbour of Mali Lošinj. The island is made for mountain biking. We bike through pine forests past palm trees and agaves, which fringe the promenade that winds its way around half of the island and connects the island’s greatest beaches. Those who seek more demanding trails can climb to the technical trails on the top of the island where official downhill tracks descend from Sveti Ivan to Veli Lošinj. The former Island capital, Veli Lošinj is smaller than Mali Lošinj nowadays. It lures with ice-cream and coffee for the well-deserved break. All of our mini mountain bikers have a tour (15km) along the waterfront pathways with a swim stop in the famous Ćikat Bay. In today’s island capital, Mali Lošinj, we can end a great days biking with a sundowner in the evening.

5th Day (Thu) Lošinj - Cres (Level A: aprx. 50 km/31 mi., 900 m/2,953 ft of elevation; Level B: aprx. 35 km/22 mi., 600 m/1,968 ft of elevation)

In the morning we embark on a cruise to Osor, the former capital of the islands Cres and Lošinj. From here we rumble along natural paths and narrow goats trails including flowy passages through Mediterranean woods to the village, Martinšćica. From there we start climbing to the small town of Podol by passing the Vrana Lake; the drinking water source of the islands Cres and Lošinj. We pop into Claudia’s, where we recuperate ourselves with homemade treats and get to know a very unique style of internet. We continue on wide paths with beautiful views of the bay of Valun to the ship which has in the meantime made its way to the city of Cres. The rest of the family start a bike tour from here (aprx. 15km) through the narrow streets of the city and along the beautiful waterfront promenade through the famous olive groves. Later in the afternoon both groups rejoin after an active rich day, back at the boat.

6th Day (Fri) Cres – Rabac (Level A & B: aprx. 12 mi./20 km, aprx. 1640 ft/500 m of elevation)

In the morning the ship brings us to the Rabac on the Istrian Peninsula. This tourist hot spot is characterized by its beautifully clear blue water and its many beaches as well as the long seaside promenade with an array of cafes and bars. Today’s tour starts with a transfer to 300 m above sea level. A combination of asphalt and gravel roads as well as a selection of simple trails lead us up an initial climb through pine forests before descending back down to the sea. A technically challenging trail along the coastline casts splendid views on the town of Rabac. Back at the boat we are able to cool down at the beach and enjoy a swim in the clear Adriatic. Families are able to enjoy a nice bike ride along the waterfront promenade in combination with a visit to the Rabac bike park where they can improve their skills on the local pump track and flow trials.

7th Day (Sat) Rabac - Malinska – Omišalj (Level A: aprx. 40 km/25 mi., 750 m/2,460 ft of elevation; Level B: aprx. 35 km/22 mi., 600 m/1,970 ft of elevation)

During breakfast we crossover to the island of Krk. Today we start our last bike tour from Malinska across natural paths and side roads to Dobrinj. You will be rewarded with stunning views of the northern part of the island of Krk. On a clear day you can look back to Učka. Passing one of the many caves of the island, we bike on a narrow path along the coast back to the ship in Omišalj, where we have enough time to walk through the town, go for a swim or relax on board before the trip ends with a cozy evening get-together. The remaining family members take a cycle tour (5km) through the old town of Omisalj and on to the former Roman harbor, Fufine Maritinum, before returning back to Omisalj. The evening is spent celebrating together with a captains dinner on board.

8th Day (Sun) Omišalj (Disembakation)

You are asked to check out after breakfast, i. e. around 9 am. On request we can organise a collective group transfer to Zagreb or Rijeka. Individual trip home or extend your holidays in Croatia.

Childen & MTB

This tour concept is based around and especially thought out for mountain biking enthusiastic families. The daily tour concept is that one parent can choose between 2 varying difficulty levels of MTB tour whilst the other parent along with the mini mountain bikers take part on an alternative multi-sport tour program before meeting back at the boat for an evening or afternoon spent as a family relaxing or taking a stroll through the picturesque old towns – enjoying the evening ambience all together. Requirement to wear a helmet

Helmets are mandatory on our bike tours. It is advised to bring your own, well fitted, helmet with you as our rental helmet numbers are limited (reservation required).
