Wapen Fan Fryslan (Tall Ships) The Wapen fan Fryslan is the biggest two-mast schooner in the Netherlands. It was built in 1965 as a freight vessel for salt and baptized, Twente Lek. In 2003 it was carefully rebuilt into the passenger boat, Wapen fan Fryslan, and has been sailing in Dutch waters with enthusiastic guests on board ever since. The cabins are comfortable and the spacious saloon welcoming. On deck you will find a spacious wheelhouse in which you will not only find the ships wheel but also a well-stocked bar. The best view over the water can be enjoyed here. A second helm stand is located outside at the stern; also accompanied by an outdoor bar. An especially unique experience on board is the setting of the 8 giant sails which make up a total sail surface of 550 m². The crew are pleased when eager guests help with the setting and trimming thereof. Special Features Year of construction: 1965 – reconstructed 2003 Cabin size: 10 m² Cabin features: Shower cabin, washbasin, WC and port holes Beds: twin beds at ground level (90 x 200 cm) which can be pushed together on request, a third bunk is possible in every cabin.
