1st Day
Embarkation Yalı Çiftlik (Bodrum County)
Individual arrival by plane to Bodrum Airport and transfer to Yalı Çiftlik (approx. 45 min.). Check-in on the boat begins at 2 pm. Your tour guide will be happy to give you tips on how best to spend the afternoon. Yalı Çiftlik offers a very beautiful beach as well as hiking opportunities along the coast. Naturally, you can also choose to visit Bodrum. The bus to Bodrum runs every half hour. The week begins with a shared dinner on board.
2nd Day Yalı Çiftlik – Körmen – Knidos
(aprx. 42 km/26 mi)
In the early morning, we leave for our first sailing trip of the week which brings us from Bodrum to Körmen. Once we arrive, we hop on our bikes for our first cycling tour, along the Datça peninsula. The first ascent takes us to a height of 450m before we head back down to the sea. On a clear day it is possible to see the Greek islands Nisyros, Tilos and Rhodes. A scenic road leads first along the coast and then through more rural areas, before taking us to Knidos. After visiting the impressive archaeological site, we stay in one of the most picturesque bays on the Turkish coast.
3rd Day Knidos – Serçe Limanı – Çiftlik
(aprx. 49 km/30 mi)
In the morning we have plenty of time to relax on our way to a small bay at the peak of the Bozburun Peninsula. A secluded mountain road takes us to a mountain village located at 300m above sea level, home to a 1,500-year-old plane tree and a lively bazar that is well worth a visit. A short walk around the plane tree is said to ensure a long and lucky life. After lunch we continue to the bay of Çiftlik by bike where there is enough time to enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea.
4th Day Çiftlik – Ekincik – Kaunos
(aprx. 31 km/19 mi)
During breakfast we cross over to the little harbour of Ekincik, the starting point of today’s bike ride. After crossing the pass with its spectacular views, we reach the shore of Lake Köycegiz, where we have the opportunity to enjoy a healing mud bath close to Sultaniye. After cycling through another small pass, we reach the mouth of the Dalyan River. From here we hop on a small boat for a 30 minute cruise past the impressive Lycian rock-cut tombs overlooking the Dalyan delta to our boat which waits on anchor near a small rocky island.
5th Day Kaunos – Dalaman – Sarsala Bay (aprx. 42 km/26 mi)
After breakfast the boat brings us close to the ancient city of Kaunos, the first destination of today’s bike tour. Once directly on the seaside and an important port town, the harbour now lies 8km from the coast. Only the ruins are silent witnesses of the former wealth of the city. After visiting the site, we continue on by bike. We cross the fertile Dalaman plains with their cotton fields and orchards and take a well-deserved break in a tea house in Dalaman. After crossing a small pass, we reach the beautiful bay of Sarsala, where we can already spot the ship from afar.
6th Day Gemiler Bay – Fethiye
(aprx. 33 km/21 mi)
After breakfast the boat sails past numerous small islands before reaching Gemiler. Also known as the island of St. Nicolas, a church was built here for the saint in the 5th century. Back on the mainland our bike ride takes us through a pine forest to the 1922 abandoned Greek city of Kayaköy, once home to 6,500 people. From here we continue our bike ride to Fethiye where we have the chance to extend our tour by a few kilometres: a small peninsula nearby tempts with its quiet bays and beautiful beaches, perfect for a picturesque swim stop. In the evening we can spend the time exploring the city of Fethiye with its local bazar. The old town, marked by the Eski Cami Mosque is also worth a visit, with its narrow, winding alleyways and the typical corner houses.
7th Day
Fethiye – Saklikent Canyon – Göcek
(aprx. 27 km/17 mi)
A bus transfers (60 min) takes us to Cavdir, the starting point of today’s cycling tour. From here we bike to the Saklikent Canyon, where we can enjoy lunch on the riverbank. In Turkish “Saklikent” means “Hidden City”. The canyon is spectacular and can easily be explored on foot. Afterwards we continue our cycling tour to Kadiköy. From here a short transfer takes us to the ancient town of Tlos which was once one of the largest towns in Lycia. After our visit a transfer takes us to Göcek.
8th Day Göcek (Disembakation)
After breakfast check-out. On request collective transfer to the airport and individual return home or extended stay in Turkey.

Arrival - How to get there

Ports of embarkation

This trip takes place alternately from Yalı Çiftlik (Bodrum County) to Göcek and from Göcek to Yalı Çiftlik (Bodrum County). The port of embarkation of Yalı Çiftlik is most easily reached by flying to Bodrum Airport (BJV). The embarkation port of Göcek can easily be reached by plane via Dalaman Airport (DLM).

We recommend booking a transfer with us to save you a lengthy search for your island hopping ship.

Embarkation Yalı Çiftlik
(if tour starts from Bodrum County)

Should your trip starts from Bodrum county, you will find our boat Admiral in the small village Yalı Çiftlik, just under 14 km from Bodrum town. As the village only has one pier, you can‘t miss the ship. The small jetty is located directly at the Belediyesi YALI Fish Restaurant (on the right side of the beach as seen from the shore). As soon as you stand on the beach of Yali Ciftlik you will already see the boat.

Embarkation Göcek (if tour starts from Göcek)

Should your trip starts from Göcek, you will find our boat Admiral in the ⇒ D-MARIN MARINA of Göcek town. This Marina should not be confused with the "Göcek Marina" or "Village Port".

We recommend booking a transfer with us to save you a lengthy search for your island hopping ship.

Additional nights in Bodrum

We are happy to arrange additional nights with breakfast in Bodrum, the starting point of your trip. Bodrum, the ancient Halicarnassus, is one of the liveliest coastal towns in Turkey. It owes its importance above all to its coastal location and its beautiful seafront promenade which comes to life in the evening with street artists, restaurants, bars, and a beautiful view over the sea. There are also many cultural sights and great beaches.

Extension program in Istanbul

With so much to see in Istanbul, you surely want to see it all! If so, we recommend our 3-day additional program in the metropolis on the Bosporus for a truly incredible holiday experience.  Istanbul is the only city in the world that bridges two continents. It is a city which immediately captivates with its liveliness and contrasts. The additional program includes transfers, three nights in a hotel, a boat trip on the Bosporus, a 2-day guided cultural tour, entrance to the Hagia Sofia, and dinner in a local restaurant.

Important information

Spoken language

Due to our international audience all Islandhopping tours are conducted bilingually, in English and German.

Itinerary changes

We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organizational requirements. Sometimes the tour will be run in reverse order. Our tours are dependent on weather conditions and the final decision is that of the captain. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend time on board the boat, instead of taking a planned bike-tour.

Requirements

Level 3

The trip along the Lycian Coast is one of the more challenging tours in our program. The day-tours average 40 km/25 mi. and lead through hilly and mountainous terrain. There are extended climbs where walking your bike is of course permitted. Most of the roads are asphalted. This tour is primarily a guided group tour. Upon consultation with your tour guides, the possibility to cycle on your own along recommended, suitable routes, may present itself. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend on board the boat, instead of taking a planned cycle tour.

Guided group pace

On most of our Bike & Boat tours you can choose between a hybrid bike and an e-bike. However, the guided group pace is based on the speed of the hybrid bike cyclists. Those who rent an e-bike on a hybrid bike tour are asked to show consideration for those who ride without electronic assistance. Hybrid bike cyclists need more breaks and more time to cycle the hills. We thank you for your understanding.

Requirement to wear a helmet

Helmets are mandatory on our bike tours. It is advised to bring your own, well fitted, helmet with you as our rental helmet numbers are limited (reservation required).

Bringing children

We believe that only children in a good physical condition and with a minimum age of 10 and previous bicycle tour experience are able to master the cycle tours with their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bike is 1.50 m (5 ft.) for hybrid bikes.

For the best tour experience with children, we recommend our Multi-Adventure Cruises in Croatia or Greece. We are convinced that these itineraries provide the best all-round experience for each individual family member.

Bringing private bikes & exclusion of private e-bikes

The tour which you have booked requires a bike with a fully functional set of gears. Islandhopping can offer you high quality, fully serviced rental bikes perfect for the terrain of this tour.

Should you however wish to bring your own hybrid bicycle with you, please make sure to check the condition of your breaks, gears, and tires and don’t forget to bring along a puncture repair kit and the essential spare parts for your bike (e.g. brake pads and spare tubes). Your bike should be in prefect mechanical working order.

We do not allow private e-bikes on board of our boats. This decision has been made due to health and safety regulations. If you wish to ride an e-bike for the duration of your tour, please get in touch with us about the rental options.

We do not recommend bringing along private road bikes, as the thin tires are not suitable for some of the road surfaces encountered on the tours.

Liability disclaimer: Radurlaub Zeitreisen GmbH. Will not be held liable for any damages caused to private bikes during loading, unloading or other logistical handling thereof.

Noise on board

Please do not forget that the ship is your hotel as well as a machine, which has to be maintained and operated – day and night. A certain level of noise is therefore inevitable.

Internet availability

Our Turkish boats do not offer a WiFi connection. If you need to connect to the internet during the tour, we recommend bringing your portable electronic device to a cafe or bar somewhere in the harbour. Free WiFi is on offer almost everywhere. If you order something to eat or drink, then you are able to use the WiFi to your hearts content.
