1st Day
Welcome to Crete - Chania (Arrival) (D)
After your arrival in Chania and the transfer to your hotel, the afternoon is yours to soak up the atmosphere of one of Greece’s most beautiful towns. Wander along the charming Venetian harbour, explore the narrow alleyways of the old town or relax with a coffee by the sea. In the evening, meet your fellow travellers over a welcome dinner as your guides introduce you to the adventures and experiences awaiting you in the week ahead.
2nd Day Authentic Southwest Crete: Chania – Paleochora – Anydroi Gorge (approx. 10 km by e-bike / 6.5 km on foot) (B, L)
After breakfast, we travel to the charming coastal town of Paleochora, which will be our home for the next few days. Following hotel check-in, your first e-bike ride takes you through the unspoilt landscapes of southwest Crete to the Monastery of the 99 Holy Fathers, where you will learn about the story of John the Hermit. In the nearby village of Azogires, enjoy a traditional lunch before visiting a small open-air folklore museum. In the afternoon, swap your e-bike for hiking boots and follow a scenic trail through the impressive Anydroi Gorge to a secluded sandy beach. Take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Libyan Sea before returning to Paleochora by support vehicle or, if you prefer, by e-bike. A short orientation walk introduces you to the relaxed atmosphere of the town, while the evening is yours to enjoy dinner in one of Paleochora’s welcoming tavernas.
3rd Day
Beautiful Libyan Sea: Paleochora – Sklavopula – Krios – Paleochora (approx. 17 mi. / 43 km km by e-bike) (B, L)
Today's e-bike tour leads you into the spectacular mountain landscapes of southwest Crete. Quiet country roads, traditional villages and sweeping panoramic views make this one of the week's cycling highlights. Your first stop is the peaceful village of Voutas, where you visit a small 13th-century chapel with remarkably well-preserved Byzantine frescoes. Continuing through picturesque mountain scenery, you enjoy a traditional Cretan lunch before descending to beautiful Krios Beach. Relax with a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Libyan Sea or simply unwind with a coffee by the sea before cycling back to Paleochora. The evening is free to enjoy one of the town's inviting tavernas, with your guides happy to recommend their favourite local spots.
4th Day
Where Mountains Meet the Sea: Ancient Lissos (approx. 28 km by e-bike & 4.5 km hiking) (B, L)
Today's adventure showcases the incredible diversity of southwest Crete by e-bike, on foot and by boat. From Paleochora, we cycle through the peaceful mountain villages of Prodromoi and Temenia before enjoying a traditional Cretan lunch in a mountain taverna. Afterwards, a gentle downhill ride brings us to the start of the famous E4 hiking trail, which leads to the ancient city of Lissos, beautifully set between steep cliffs and the Libyan Sea. Once an important sanctuary dedicated to Asklepios, the god of healing, Lissos still captivates visitors with its impressive archaeological remains. After exploring the site, we board our private charter boat for a scenic cruise along the rugged coastline. A stop at a secluded sea cave offers the opportunity for a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters before returning to Paleochora. The evening is free to enjoy dinner in one of the town's welcoming tavernas.
5th Day
Crete’s Most Iconic Hike: Samaria Gorge (aprx. 10 mi./16 km on foot) (B, L)
No visit to Crete would be complete without exploring the spectacular Samaria Gorge, one of Europe's most impressive hiking trails. Surrounded by towering cliffs, ancient cypress trees and breathtaking scenery, today's hike offers an unforgettable journey through the wild heart of Crete. After an early transfer to the entrance of the gorge, we begin our descent through this remarkable national park. Covering around 16 km with approximately 1,200 metres of descent, the hike is both rewarding and physically demanding. Along the way, we enjoy a picnic surrounded by one of Crete's most extraordinary natural landscapes. Our walk ends in the picturesque seaside village of Agia Roumeli, where a well-deserved late lunch awaits at a traditional taverna. Afterwards, there is time for a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear Libyan Sea before boarding our private charter boat back to Paleochora. The evening is yours to enjoy dinner at one of the town's inviting local tavernas.
6th Day
Pink Sands & Turquoise Waters: Boat trip to Elafonisi - Chania (B, L, D)
Your final day of exploration takes you to one of Crete's most spectacular natural treasures. After breakfast, you check out of the hotel and board your private charter boat for a scenic cruise along the southern coast to the protected nature reserve of Elafonisi. Renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and unique pink-sand beaches, Elafonisi is considered one of the most beautiful coastal landscapes in the Mediterranean. Elafonisi is also one of the few remaining nesting sites and protected habitats of the endangered Caretta caretta sea turtle. Enjoy time for a refreshing swim, stroll through the shallow lagoons, or relax with a refreshing drink while soaking up the peaceful atmosphere of this extraordinary place. After returning to Paleochora, a leisurely lunch awaits before your transfer back to Chania. Following hotel check-in, discover the charm of the city's Venetian Old Town on a guided walking tour. In the evening, celebrate the end of an unforgettable week together over a special farewell dinner.
7th Day Farewell, Crete! - Chania (return journey) (B)
After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Crete. Check out of your hotel before our shared transfer takes you to Chania Airport or the ferry port. If possible, we recommend booking a flight departing after 12 noon to ensure a relaxed and stress-free journey home. If you are not quite ready to leave, why not extend your stay and enjoy a few more days discovering Crete's timeless beauty and warm hospitality at your own pace?

If you would like to extend your trip

Additional nights in Athens

As many flights to Crete require connecting flights in Athens, a longer stopover in the Greek capital is also recommended. We would be happy to arrange additional nights with breakfast in Athens. The 2004 Olympic Games held in the Greek capital had an incredibly positive effect on the lively 5-million-strong metropolis. Large areas of the city centre were converted into pedestrian zones and a vast archaeological park was created around the Acropolis. A stroll through the many winding alleys of the Plaka, the charming old town quarter, is a wonderful way to spend a warm summers evening.

Important information

Cycling Tour Requirements

E-Biking (Level 3): Our e-bike tours are designed for participants with a good level of fitness. Daily cycling distances range from approximately 10–32 mi. (17–50 km) through gently hilly to mountainous terrain. Although some longer climbs are included, there are no time limits, allowing everyone to ride at a comfortable pace. The daily elevation gains range between approx. 1,000 and 2,300 ft. (300–700 m). Most routes follow quiet, paved roads with very little traffic. Each morning, your tour guide will provide detailed information about the day's route and its level of difficulty. If you would prefer to skip a cycling tour, you are welcome to enjoy a relaxing day at the beach or spend your time exploring independently

Hiking (Level 3): Our hiking tours require a good to high level of fitness. Daily walking distances range from approximately 3–10 mi. (4.5–16 km) through mountainous terrain. The hikes mainly follow well-maintained mountain trails and impressive gorges. Although some sections are physically demanding, there are no time limits, allowing everyone to walk at a comfortable pace. Your tour guide will explain each day's route in detail before setting off. Good hiking boots are essential. Flip-flops, sandals, or similar footwear are not suitable. If you prefer to skip one of the hikes, you are welcome to spend the day swimming or relaxing instead.

Spoken language

Due to our international audience all our Crete tours are conducted bilingually, in English and German.

Itinerary changes

The itinerary is subject to change due to weather conditions or operational requirements. Any adjustments will always be made with your safety, comfort, and overall travel experience in mind

Requirement to wear a helmet

Wearing a helmet is mandatory on all e-bike tours. We recommend bringing your own, properly fitting helmet. Rental helmets are available in limited numbers and must be reserved.

Bringing children

We believe that only children in a good physical condition and with a minimum age of 10 and previous bicycle tour experience are able to master the cycle tours with their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bike is 1.50 m (5 ft.) for hybrid bikes.

For the best tour experience with children, we recommend our Multi-Adventure Cruises in Croatia or Greece. We are convinced that these itineraries provide the best all-round experience for each individual family member.

Catering

The tour includes 6 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 2 dinners. A generous breakfast is served each morning at your hotel. Lunch is included on all activity days and is enjoyed either at traditional Cretan tavernas serving regional specialties or as a picnic in beautiful natural surroundings. On four evenings, dinner is at your own leisure, giving you the opportunity to discover the excellent local restaurants and tavernas in Chania and Paleochora. Your tour guides will be happy to recommend their favourite places.

Internet during your trip

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout your stay in both hotels.
