E-Bike & Bicycle Cruise Dalmatia from Dubrovnik Plus

E-Bike & Bicycle Cruise Dalmatia from Dubrovnik Plus (8 Days/7 Nights, approx. 163 km )

This tour belongs to our Islandhopping-Plus-Program which meanwhile consists of four individual tours and matches activity with comfort. Our proud motor yard Harmonia is your comfortable home for an amazing week. Tenderly decorated roomy cabins, bathrooms with separate shower, a comfortable sundeck as well as a stylish salon await your visit.

If you would like to experience the region of South Dalmatia thoroughly, not wanting to do without Dubrovnik and its amazing city walls, this sail and cycle trip would be an excellent choice. Accompanied by our charming motor yacht, we get to know this sparsely populated part of Croatia. Breathtaking natural features and cultural highlights lined up close together.

The highlights of the trip are the town centre of Dubrovnik as well as Mostar (situated in Bosnia and Herzegovina) which are listed as UNESCO’s world heritage. We cycle the islands of Korčula, Mljet, Lastovo and Šipan and experience the interaction of sea and land, culture and nature at limited space. Due to changing wind and weather conditions the tour may also be operated in reverse.

Highlights of the tour
Culture: Mostar and its world famous bridge
Nature: Mljet Island and its salt lakes
Activity: Take the time to walk around the city walls of Ston. It's the second longest fortified wall in the world.
Culinary: Oysters of Mali Ston Bay
Souvenirs: In Dubrovnik you will find a broad range of typical Croatian souvenirs

1st Day (Sun) Dubrovnik (Embarkation)

Individual journey to Dubrovnik. Check-in on board starts between 2 and 2.30 pm at Gruž, the town port. At about 4.30 pm, a guided tour through Dubrovnik is offered, where we hear some interesting details of the town’s history and visit the most important sites. The boat will spend the night in Gruž offering the guests an opportunity to experience Dubrovnik’s nightlife.

2nd Day (Mon) Islands of Šipan and Mljet (aprx. 7 + 16 mi./11 km + 25 km)

A pleasant cycle trip takes us after breakfast past some sumptuous villas and further on past a fertile valley framed by a limestone range of hills. Afterwards we cruise to the green and forested island Mljet – known as the honey island. It is with 70 % of woodland one of the best wooded islands in the Mediterranean area. Homer mentioned this lovely island in his epic poem “Odyssey”. He made it a home for the Nymph Calypso and the legendary Greek king Odysseus, whom could not resist Calypso and stayed on Mljet for seven years. In the afternoon we explore the Mljet national park by bicycle and spend the night in Pomena.

3rd Day (Tue) Lastovo Island (aprx. 17 mi./27 km)

Our ship takes us early in the morning to Lastovo Island. The island of Lastovo is one of the smallest inhabited islands in the Adriatic Sea. Already Emperor Augustus appreciated the mild climate, and in Roman times it was even named “Augusta Insula” after him. The barely more than 1,000 inhabitants still live today mainly from fishing the extremely rich waters, agriculture and viticulture. The gold-coloured white wine “Marastina”, known even beyond Croatia’s borders, is grown here. Our today’s cycle tour takes us in a large circle across the beautiful island.

4th Day (Wed) Islands of Korčula and Gradac (aprx. 28 mi./45 km)

After the day’s first crossing over to Korčula Island, regarded as one of the most beautiful islands in Dalmatia, we cycle from Vela Luka to Račišće where the boat awaits to take us to the mainland. There is enough time to enjoy a lengthy swim stop on anchor. Our destination is the harbor of Gradac quiet close to the delta of the Neretva River, which is the most important one in the Herzegovina region.

5th Day (Thu) Excursion to Mostar

In the morning a transfer bus takes us across the Bosnian border to Mostar. A guided tour familiarizes us with the location and the town’s world-famous landmark the bridge across the River Neretva, which was destroyed in 1993 through heavy shelling and reopened in 2004 and is UNESCO protected since. Grap the chance to stroll through the old town of Mostar which is the National heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On our return trip we stop in Počitelj with its well-preserved fortress (or if the weather is very warm and sunny at the Kravica waterfall) before continuing to Gradac. Back at the ship we end the spectacular day relaxing by having a nice glass of wine.

6th Day (Fri) Pelješac peninsula and Korčula Island (aprx. 16 mi./25 km)

Today’s bike tour takes us across the Pelješac peninsula from Trpanj to Vigan. On the descent we will be able to admire beautiful views of the deep blue sea and the neighboring island of Korčula, seemingly only a stone’s throw away. After a lengthy swim stop we will spend the late afternoon in Korčula town, which competes with Venice for the honor of being the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. We have ample time in the evening to wander through the fabulous old town and its narrow lanes laid out in a fishbone pattern.

7th Day (Sat) Mainland Prapratno – Slano – Dubrovnik (Cycle route aprx. 19 mi. / 30 km)

A longer crossing on board the boat hugs the beautiful coastline of the Pelješac peninsula on your way to the small ferry harbour of Prapratno. The tour takes you from Prapratno to Ston with its famous city wall, which is the longest, intact, fortification wall in Europe and often compared with the Great Wall of China. The tour takes you further to the small harbour of Slano on the mainland. The boat awaits you here for your last boats cruise to the city of Dubrovnik. A cheerful evening meal on board the boat gives you time to celebrate the success of the week with fellow travellers and tour guides.

8th Day (Sun) Dubrovnik (Disembarkation)

After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia.

Extended stay

Extend your stay in Dubrovnik

Would you like to be in Dubrovnik already before the start of your bike and boat tour or enjoy Dalmatia a bit longer after the tour ends? Then we recommend that you extend your vacation for one or more days in Dubrovnik, your embarkation and disembarkation port.

The medieval town of Dubrovnik is like one great museum and surely one of the most interesting towns in the whole Mediterranean region. The main reason is the beautifully preserved Old Town – a World Heritage Site – built on a peninsula.

Long walks exploring Dubrovnik’s centre is certainly most rewarding, and countless cafes and wine bars invite you to relax with a coffee, an ice cream or a glass of Croatian wine.

Due to our international audience all Islandhopping tours are conducted bilingually, in English and German.

Itinerary Changes

We reserve the right to make changes to the planned itinerary due to changing wind and weather conditions as well as organizational requirements. If necessary the tour will be operated in reverse.

Requirements (Level 2 - 3)

The cycle tours require a basic level of fitness from participants, which they should have acquired from steady cycling. The tours will take us up to a height of 200 to 500 m above sea-level.

The day-tours from 12 mi. to 31 mi. (20 to 50 km) will take us through hilly and mountainous terrain and will be completed without any time-constraints. Participants will also need to master long and steep climbs, during which they are, however, also permitted to push their bicycles.

We traverse mostly asphalted roads, which are rarely traveled on outside the holiday seasons.

You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend on board the boat, instead of taking a planned cycle tour. This tour is primarily a guided group tour. Upon consultation with your tour guides, the possibility to cycle on your own along recommended, suitable routes, may present itself.

Requirement to wear a helmet

Helmet use is mandatory on all bike rides. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own well-fitted helmet. Rental helmets are available on board in limited number (reservation requested).

We believe that only children in a good physical condition and with a minimum age of 10 and previous bicycle tour experience are able to master the cycle tours on their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bike is 1.20 m (4 ft.). There is a helmet duty for all children up to age 16 in Croatia.
