There, you can replace the burnt calories with a delicious lunch and head to Zipari on a great single trail. After a two and a half hour ferry ride, you will arrive on Patmos; On your bikes, ready, trails! From the coast you will head inland to the highest point of the island. A fantastic nature trail starts here and leads you down to the snow-white capital Chora, whose picturesque streets invite you to linger. Day 4 Bike tour Island Patmos - Ferry to Leros Island (15 km/350 m of elevation) (F)

After that you will enjoy a well-deserved coffee break in the harbor town of Skala. The tour continues on asphalt roads over Petra beach up to Chora, where you will visit the world-famous Monastery of St. John before riding on a nature trail down to Skala. Here, the ferry to Leros awaits you. In Leros, you can take a walk to Alinta Bay in the afternoon and end this eventful day in the quaint bar at the end of the bay. Day 5 Bike Tour Island Leros (35 km/750 m of elevation) (F)

“Happy happy Leros” – that is how the German Mountain Bike magazine titled this lovely island. In the last few years, varied trails have been built here. This makes Leros, in combination with its incredible scenic landscapes, a true highlight destination to ride in. From the Saraya Resort, you will first cross the island to the Olive Trail, leading to Patella. The next highlight awaits you here: The Lighthouse Trail – a scenic sensation! You will later reach the main town of Lakki via the Fitorio and Vagia trails and then climb the windmill road leading to Kastro, always accompanied by fantastic panoramic views. The crowning glory is the long staircase down to Agia Marina. Grant yourself, after these many great impressions, a free afternoon at the hotel pool or on the beach! After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will cycle over to the western side of the island to the windmill hill, before taking the beautiful nature trails back to the coast and on to the sea-lapped Isidoros chapel. A place that exudes romance at its purest: many couples have already wedded here. Along the coast the tour continues, peppered with short trail segments, to Mili and again over the mountain bringing you back to Agia Marina. In the afternoon you will return to Kos by ferry, where you can enjoy a sunset ride on the last trail encounter for the day. Overnight at Kos Junior Suites Hotel.

Day 7 Biketour Kos Island (25-30 km/700 - 1,000 m of elevation) (F)

Itinerary changes

MTB tour level: 2

Easy to handle to sporty day trips with partly hilly stages from 15 to 40 km, an average of 600 m in altitude and paths of up to level S2 of the single trail classification. Most of the trails are however easy trails of S1 difficulty. The mountain bike terrain is as varied as the Aegean Island landscapes: the trips are very different from day to day and therefore offer a lot of variety in biking. Wide forest roads, small back roads, fun single trails, flow trails and narrow forest trails lead you through the terrain. You will rarely ride on S2 or even S3 routes, as they can easily be avoided by your guide. He can customize the trips according to the driving skills of the group.

Single trail classification
For you to be well prepared for your bike trip and know what technical levels of difficulty you can expect on the different bike stages, we have classified the single trails. The classification of the different levels is based on the widespread German single trail scale (http://www.singletrail-skala.de/):

Blue (light, S0 – S1): minor obstacles such as shallow roots, small stones, some gullies, erosion damage, slopes of up to 40%, (possibly) loose ground, tight bends, but no hairpin bends
Requirements: basic technical knowledge, precise braking, body shifting, standing upright

Red (moderate difficult, S2): underground mostly not solidified, larger stones and roots (occasionally), flat heels and stairs, slopes of up to 70%, slight hairpin bends
Requirements: constant readiness to brake, exact braking body shifting

Black (difficult, S3 – S5): large stones, rocks and roots (occasionally), slippery surface, loose boulders, high heels, slopes of more than 70%, tight switchbacks
Requirement: very good bike control

Requirement to wear a helmet

Helmet use is mandatory on all bike rides. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own well-fitted helmet. Rental helmets are available on board in limited number (reservation requested).

Time difference

Please note that Greece is on Eastern European (Summer) time, i.e. GM(S)T + 2 hours.
