Multi-Adventure Cruise Ionian Islands

Multi-Adventure Cruise Ionian Islands (8 Days/7 Nights, approx. 70 km )

On board of the Panagiota, a two-masted wooden motor sailer, this multi-adventure cruise takes us to the Ionian Islands spread out along the west coast of Greece. Here we see Hellas at its greenest.

This tour takes us from the Venetian characterized old town of Corfu to the Island of Lefkas, with its white chalk cliffs and picture perfect beaches as well as to the Island of Cephalonia with its picture perfect village of Fiskardo and the enchanting Melissani Cave. On Meganisi and Paxos – an island all covered in olive trees – where time seems to have stood still, we may have unforgettable insights into traditional Greek island life. For seven days we explore the unique island and coastal world by ship, canoe, bicycle and on foot.

This family-friendly cruise leaves a lot of room for fun, games and spontaneity. Biking, hiking, canoeing, swimming or relaxing on board: You decide each day what you feel like doing. Our tour guide is familiar with the country and gladly gives advises and makes suggestions, accompanies us at the various activities and can tell us a lot about the lively history of Greece.

1st Day (Sat) Corfu Island (Embarkation)

Individual arrival at Corfu and collective transfer from the airport to the ship. At 2 pm you can start checking in on the Panagiota. The tour begins with a joint dinner on board. Overnight in Corfu Town.

2nd Day (Sun) Corfu Island – Paxos Island

After breakfast we cast off and cruise to the olive island of Paxos. Paxos is the smallest of the seven Ionian Islands with a higher population of olive trees then people – 32 km² are home to over 250,000 olive trees! They cover the island in a wonderful silver green shimmer. The natural harbor of Gaios is unique and provides a special atmosphere during our stay here. In the afternoon we take a small cycle tour along the coast to Mongonissi bay. The evening can be spent relaxing in a local tavern in Gaios.

3rd Day (Mon) Paxos Island – Lefkas Island

In the morning we cruise to Lefkas Island, Lefkas City, but before arriving we anchor near Antipaxos for a swim stop from the boat. After a long cruise we reach a narrow channel with an original swing bridge which connects the Greek mainland with the island. From Lefkas City we start our tour around the lagoon and can enjoy a second swim at the white sand beach, Agios Ionnis. After returning to the boat, we navigate our way to Nidri where we will spend the evening and the night.

4th Day (Tue) Lefkas Island - Cephalonia Island

In the morning we ride from Nidri through olive groves to a nearby waterfall. If we are lucky, a steady stream of water will enable us to take a refreshing swim. Following the excursion we make our way to Fiskardo on the island of Cephalonia. This port, located at the northern tip of the island, delights us with its colourful little houses and many cafes and bars along the picturesque harbour promenade. An evening walk of approx. 30 minutes takes us to a pretty lighthouse. Overnight in Fiskardo.

5th Day (Wed) Cephalonia Island – Meganisi Island

After a short crossing by boat we reach the harbour of Sami. Today’s bike tour starts here and leads us along the coastline to the enchanting Melissani Cave; accessible only by row boat. A visit to a donkey farm, knowledge and fun at the same time for all ages, is next on the agenda before the tour takes us back to the boat. The boat meets us in Sami and takes us for a well-deserved swim break! Our journey then takes us further to Meganisi, a charming island where we spend the night.

6th Day (Thu) Meganisi Island - Arillas

After breakfast we have the chance to explore Meganisi on our bike. Afterwards a long crossing will take us to Arillas, an idyllic and peaceful place along west coast of Greece, close to Perdika on the Greek mainland. A stroll along the sandy beach or a swim around Panagiota (the boat) rounds off the day. We spend the night in Arillas.

7th Day (Fri) Arillas – Corfu Island

In the morning our bike tour leads us along remote streets under the shade of old olive trees through a national park and along a little river until we reach the monastery of Agios Athanasios, which we visit. The Panagiota awaits us for our last crossing back to Corfu. Here we can enjoy a celebratory evening meal before reflecting on our wonderful adventures of the week in the beautiful old town.

8th Day (Sat) Corfu Island (Disembarkation)

After breakfast, check-out, collective transfer to the airport on request and individual return home, or holiday extension on the island of Corfu.

Extended stay

Extend your stay on Corfu!

Would you like to be in the vicinity before your biking and cruising tour in the Ionian Islands begins or to spend a few more relaxed days afterwards on the island of Corfu?

Corfu is the largest island in the Ionian archipel and its diverse landscape, countless beaches, turquiose-coloured sea and many sightseeing attractions are impressive. The beautiful landscape in the north of the island, with its coast of sandstone cliffs at Sidari, attracts tourists like a magnet.

Corfu’s capital – also named Corfu – is considered one of the most beautiful towns in all of Greece. To stroll through the lively lanes of the historical centre with its Venetian flair, where countless small shops offer a colourful profusion of wares, is a true holiday highpoint. Also impressive are the New and Old Fortress, just as photogenic as the monastery island of Vlacherna- connected by a dam to the main island – and nearby Mouse Island (Pontikonissi).

Austria’s great empress Sissi already described Corfu as the island of her dreams when she came there to improve her delicate health. In 1890 – 1892, she had an extraordinary palace built 7 km south of Corfu Town, calling it Achilleion, after Achilles, the legendary Homeric hero. It is today one of the main tourist attractions.

So it is certainly always worthwhile to extend your holiday on Corfu: No matter whether you are interested in culture, love hiking or exploring the island by car, or simply want to relax on the beach – Corfu has something for everybody.

Please note that Greece is on Eastern European (Summer) time, i.e. GM(S)T + 2 hours.

Itinerary changes

We reserve the right to make changes to the planned itinerary due to changing wind and weather conditions as well as organizational requirements.

Requirements of the cycling and hiking tours

For the bicycle tours we have touring bikes, which can be rented at 40 euro per week. Trailer bikes as well as children’s seats can be rented at 20 euro per week. On request, your tour guide, who knows the area, will accompany you on the tours. For an additional charge there are also a couple of e-bikes available on board. The tours usually do not demand special fitness on part of the participants. As for the longer tours on Lefkas and Paxos, the tour guide will inform you in detail what you can expect. The walks and short hikes take place on good, sometimes even asphalted paths and are also not demanding. Should some activities require a bit more in the way of physical fitness, the tour guide will point this out. Rental helmets for adults are required on all cycle tours. Helmets are available on board in limited number (on request). You are kindly requested to bring own helmets for children.

We do not recommend bringing your own bikes/MTBs. Transport of the bikes as well as the loading and unloading from the boats does make the bikes vulnerable to paint defects. Radurlaub Zeitreisen GmbH cannot be held liable for private bikes brought on the tour. Personal e-bikes are not permitted on board our boat due to weight restrictions, as well as liability concerns.

Children

These tours are especially suited for children. Please have in mind that we can supply rental bikes only for a body height of at least 4.3 ft./1,3 m. On request, we can supply children’s seats and trailer bikes (additional fee: 20 euro/week).

Requirement to wear a helmet

Helmet use is mandatory on all bike rides. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own well-fitted helmet. Rental helmets are available on board in limited number (reservation requested). There are, unfortunately, no rental helmets for children available.

Internet availability

The Panagiota does not offer a WiFi connection. If you need to connect to the internet during the tour, we recommend to take your portable electronic device to a cafe or bar somewhere in the harbour. Free WiFi is on offer almost everywhere. If you order something to eat or drink, then you are able to use the WiFi to your hearts Content.

Our ships

Please do not forget that the ship is your hotel as well as a machine, which has to be maintained and operated – day and night. A certain level of noise is therefore inevitable.

Catering

The on-board chef is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and one or two warm meals a day. The catering consists of 2 x full board and 5 x half board and starts with the dinner on the arrival day and ends with the breakfast on the departure day.
