We also appreciate you bringing the issue with the hot tub to our attention. Since this is a boat, the hot tub needs to be turned on manually and requires about two hours to warm up. It can never reach the same temperatures that for example hotel hot tubs do, simply due to the technical limitations on a vessel. Additionally, the hot tub is switched off while guests are out cycling during the day, as no one is on board to use it.
That said, the captain and crew are always happy to turn it on upon request and remain at our guests’ disposal at all times. We are sorry if this procedure was not fully clear and limited your enjoyment.

Leider blieb uns in dieser Woche keine Alternative übrig, als kurzfristig das von uns vorgesehene Schiff auszuwechseln, um die Integrität der Reise weitestgehend aufrecht zu halten. Durch diese unvermeidbare Änderung mussten wir hinnehmen, dass es für die begleitenden Reiseleiter keinen Platz an Bord gab und, dass die letzte Nacht der Reise in einem Hotel verbracht werden musste. Diese Änderungen wurden allen Teilnehmern der Reise im Voraus schriftlich mitgeteilt, um ihre weitere Teilnahme an der Reise bestätigen zu können.

Dass uns kurzfristig auch die vorgesehene deutschsprachige Reiseleitung abgesagt hat, kommt bedauerlicherweise noch hinzu. Zwei Tage vor Reiseantritt haben wir vergebens versucht Ihnen dies telefonisch mitzuteilen. Für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten entschuldigen wir uns.

Auch die Tatsache, dass in Schottland auf der linken Straßenseite gefahren wird, erfordert eine gewisse Erfahrung und erhöhte Aufmerksamkeit, worauf wir in der Reisebeschreibung ebenfalls hinweisen. Wir verstehen jedoch, dass der persönliche Eindruck während der Reise hiervon abweichen kann und nehmen Ihre Hinweise sehr ernst.

At the same time we are truly sorry to hear about the issues you mentioned. Especially regarding the coffee in the early morning, you missed. We are already working on that and there will definitely be some changes in the next season.

Your input is not only valid, but incredibly helpful for us moving forward. Regarding the water charge and local tax (Kurtaxe): We understand your concerns. While we try to communicate such details transparently upfront, we take your comments seriously and will evaluate how we can make this even clearer for future guests. We already mention the cost in the invoice and always communicate that it must be paid in cash on site. This charge not only covers the provision of unlimited fresh and drinkable water on board and during the cycling tours, but also includes the tourism fee (Kurtaxe), which is a local tax charged to overnight guests in some countries.

Your thoughtful remarks about the tipping process and guest interaction also show just how much care and observation you brought to the tour. Thank you so much for that.
