Unique river landscape surrounded by mountains – 3 days in Sinj
Would you like to spend a few days in Dalmatia before or after your Islandhopping tour? Are you looking for a program that offers you both organised activities as well as enough free time to explore the fascinating region on your own? Then we recommend our three-day extension program in the town of Sinj, inland from Split town. This program includes two nights’ accommodation with breakfast, a city tour of Sinj accompanied by a professional guide, and a choice between one of two possible excursions in the surrounding area: either a jeep tour along the river Cetina or a quad tour along the dirt roads of Dinara; both include a traditional lunch.
Sinj is located just a few kilometres from Split in the heart of the Dalmatian Zagora. The town is surrounded by the Dinara Mountains and the Sinjsko polje - a fertile karst where life has been shaped for centuries by the crystal-clear river Cetina. Sinj is famous for the knights' game of Alka and the pilgrimage to the miraculous Madonna of Sinj. Besides its rich history, the town impresses above all with its spectacular nature; high mountains and a unique river landscape come together to create an area of exceptional beauty.
You can choose to stay in one of these 3- or 4-star hotels in Sinj:
Hotel Alkar is located in the quiet Sinj Town Park, just a few minutes' walk from the town centre. Each room in the hotel is air-conditioned and has a private bathroom. The bed & breakfast also has a bar/lounge and free parking as well as Wi-Fi in all public areas. Guests can get plenty of tips at the reception on how to spend their free time in the beautiful surroundings of Sinj. The hotel staff will be happy to help you organise all activities and are available to answer any questions you may have.
